Safeguarding

Safeguarding information about our school.

St. Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school. We believe all staff and visitors have an important and unique role to play in child protection.

Ensuring that your child feels safe and secure at school is a key priority. All staff, both teaching and non-teaching, receive regular training to make sure they have an up-to-date knowledge of current safeguarding best practice in schools. Training is provided by BWCET, Clennell Education Solutions and by our designated persons (DSL and DDSL).

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs A Garrity.

We have two deputy DSLs, Mrs R Kerr and Mrs L Fox.

Our Safeguarding Governor is Mr Simon Wilkinson.

Select members of the Local Governing Committee and the Headteacher also receive regular ‘safer recruitment’ training to ensure the selection process to recruit new members of staff includes important safeguarding checks
