Welcome to our Reception class!

Reception Class are taught by Mrs Traynor, supported by Mrs Short. In Reception Class we aim to provide a stimulating, caring and secure environment where the children are introduced to school life. The classroom is organised in such a way that it invites the children to explore different areas of the curriculum. Children are encouraged to experience all areas through teacher led and child-initiated activities.

The seven areas of learning in the Foundation Stage are: Communication and Language; Literacy; Mathematics; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Knowledge and Understanding of the World; Expressive Arts and Designs; Physical Development. Children in the Foundation Stage also have access to the outdoor curriculum which integrates and brings alive the curriculum in a purposeful and stimulating way. Pupil’s progress is monitored throughout the year to ensure early learning goals are achieved and that every child is fulfilling their true potential.
